Idioms With Zach

Like any language, there are many ways to insult someone. In this blog post, you’ll learn an ESL idiom which is a way of telling someone they are very bad at something, i.e. ‘Hey John, you’re bad at dancing!”

Have a look at this page from the Mr Vocab book ‘Idioms With Zach’

As you can see, Zach is being told that he can’t act to save his life. In other words, his friends are telling him he’s terrible at acting.

If you can’t do something to ‘save your life’ it means you are very bad at it. We also use this idiom to make fun of ourselves, i.e. ‘I can’t cook to save my life!’
